The Opportunity
As a Customer Service Officer, you will deliver welcoming and professional customer service through all customer interactions in person, on the phone and online.
You will also be responsible for:
- Resolving customer queries
- Asking direct and appropriate questions to assist customers
- Provision of accurate information in a timely manner
- Recording information in Council database software
- Maintaining a professional image and compliance with uniform policy
This is a part time, limited tenure position until December 2026. Your scheduled hours and days will be: Week 1- Thursday Friday Week 2- Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
Things You’re Proud Of (Key Selection Criteria)
- Proven experience in a call centre or high-volume phone operations.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a customer service industry.
- To be customer outcome focused delivering high resolution at first point.
- Use initiative and problem-solving techniques for the best customer and business outcomes.
- Excellent numeracy, cash handling, balancing and end of day banking experience.
- Well-developed knowledge of the East Gippsland Shire, region and/ or services.
- Excellent keyboard skills and experience with Microsoft software; Internet; and database products.
If successful, you will need to undertake a police check and hold a current and valid employee Working with Children Check. You must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
