The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Business Partner to support our Governance team in Lakes Entrance/Bairnsdale. Reporting to the Procurement Coordinator, you'll provide expertise in procurement, tendering, and contract administration. You'll also help implement our contractor management system while ensuring compliance with procurement legislation and policies.

 

As a Procurement Business Partner, you will:

  • Administer tender processes, including document preparation, evaluation reports, and system management.
  • Guide Business Units in procurement planning, tendering, and vendor management.
  • Maintain contractor relationships and ensure effective communication and compliance.
  • Promote probity, accountability, and transparency in procurement activities.

This is a part-time 0.5EFT ongoing opportunity, based in Bairnsdale or Lakes Entrance.

 

Things You’re Proud Of (Key Selection Criteria)

  1. Demonstrated experience and achievement in the administration of tenders and use of electronic contract management systems. 
  2. Strong administrative knowledge, including knowledge of relevant administrative processes, standards, systems and procedures.
  3. Extensive experience using a customer response management system to ensure timely response to enquiries and complaints, with an emphasis placed on demonstrating excellent customer service skills.
  4. Excellent computer skills, including intermediate level in Excel.
  5. Excellent relationship building capability.
  6. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  7. A thorough understanding of relevant statutory tendering and procurement requirements within a local government environment desirable.
  8. Ability to work unsupervised within set timeframes and the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

If successful, you will need to undertake a police check. You must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
