The Opportunity
Are you passionate about fostering a proactive safety culture and leading positive change? Join East Gippsland Shire Council as our Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Coordinator, where you’ll oversee strategic safety initiatives and champion the wellbeing of our team. What You’ll Be Doing:
- Leading the development and implementation of innovative OHS strategies.
- Overseeing the Safety Management System and compliance assurance activities.
- Providing leadership and guidance to the health, safety and wellbeing team.
- Driving a positive workplace culture prioritising health, safety, and wellbeing.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to embed safety practices across the organisation.
Based in Lakes Entrance, this is a Full-Time, ongoing position.
What we’re looking for (Key Selection Criteria)
- Significant demonstrated experience in OHS.
- Tertiary qualifications in OHS or related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret legislation, particularly in respect of OHS, and ability to develop frameworks, policies, guidelines and procedures.
- Knowledge of and experience with organisational safety – ideally in a local government setting.
- Experience in leading and managing a small team.
- Experience in developing business partnerships with stakeholders to influence a health and Safety culture.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage projects from conception to implementation.
- Demonstrate consideration for customers when planning, designing, and delivering processes.
If successful, you will need to undertake a police check and you must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
