The Opportunity: As the Engagement Facilitator, you will lead the development of organisation-wide engagement strategies, build stakeholder relationships, and drive innovative practices to enhance community involvement in decision-making.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Develop and Implement Strategies: Lead organisation-wide community and stakeholder engagement initiatives using IAP2 or similar frameworks.
- Provide Specialist Advice: Support staff with specialist guidance on effective engagement practices.
- Build Strong Relationships: Foster collaboration with stakeholders and community groups.
- Innovate and Evaluate: Establish and evaluate innovative methods for community contribution in decision-making.
Based in Bairnsdale, this is a full-time, ongoing position.
What we’re looking for (Key Selection Criteria)
- Proven experience working in key community engagement roles with a range of stakeholders and using a range of engagement methods.
- Strong community and stakeholder engagement experience with high level communications skills including conflict resolution and the ability to gain the co-operation of others.
- Experience in IAP2 methodologies or similar frameworks, and tools and their application to local government engagement practices.
- Demonstrated ability to build capacity and acceptance of new processes and practices through coaching and support.
- Tertiary degree in Community Engagement / Social Sciences / Public Policy or a related field and extensive relevant work experience.
If successful, you will need to undertake a police check and you must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
