Senior Land Use Planner

Senior Land Use Planner 

Position overview 

This is a full-time ongoing position, based in Bairnsdale. 

The purpose of the role is to provide efficient and effective provision of planning approvals services for Council. 

What you will need to succeed 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience working in local government planning or private consultancy planning.
  • Tertiary qualification in town planning.
  • Good interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with staff, public, consultants and statutory authorities.
  • Good knowledge of and the ability to interpret, the various applicable Acts and Regulations relating to planning matters.
  • Ability to investigate, prepare and complete reports (some of which will be complex) on a wide range of planning matters, and make recommendations to management and Council.
  • Capacity to make independent and unassisted decisions when required.
  • Ability to produce work, which is timely, accurate and to a high professional standard.  Willingness to work with and guide others in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to adapt to and manage change.
  • A current, valid Victorian driver’s licence.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake a current Police Check and Pre-Employment Medical Check. Applicants for this position must be legally entitled to work in Australia.
