Position overview

We are looking for candidates that are passionate about the water, that understand how important learning to swim is for everyone and have a desire to teach this skill within the community. You need to have a love for the water and an energetic (and patient!) side of you to create a fun, informative environment for the participants of your classes.

There are numerous casual positions open, based at the Lakes Entrance Aquadome and the Bairnsdale Aquatic and Recreation Centre. 

We can provide a supportive environment to learn how to become a swim teacher and conduct classes, and you will have a fun, team orientated place to work in. The role also has further development opportunities!

Other responsibilities of this role include:

  • Plan, develop and conduct swimming lessons to meet the defined needs of the pupils.
  •  Deliver high quality instruction and a safe environment.
  • Develop good working relationships with students, parents, users’ groups and other staff.
  • Respond to emergencies in the Centre, ensuring supervision and control is maintained, and administers first aid as required.

What we are looking for (Key Selection Criteria)

  • Previous experience in a customer service-based role.
  • Ability to liaise with other team members, customers, clients and suppliers in a professional and productive manner.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse range of people.
  • Demonstrated experience in working in a team.
  • Computer literacy with various Programs and Software.
  • Demonstrated exceptional and strong Customer Focus. 
  • Essential Qualifications listed in the Position Description, or the ability to obtain them.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake a current Police Check, Employee Working with Children Check, and be legally entitled to work in Australia.
