Position overview

We are on the lookout for enthusiastic candidates with a passion in customer service, the aquatic industry and/or the health and fitness industry to join our Recreation Centre teams in a casual capacity.

You will be a part of providing a fantastic experience for visitors to our centres, from the greeting of the visitors, during their time at the centres and ensuring they leave feeling satisfied with their visit and wanting to come back again! The main tasks of this position are ensuring visitors safety in the different areas of the centre, providing a high level of customer service and promoting the health and fitness programs and services that the centres offer.

Other responsibilities of this role include:

  • Respond to incoming telephone calls in a timely, professional and friendly manner, resolving the majority of enquires and processing messages and referrals to others where required.
  • Know and be able to communicate with confidence to customers on the Centre’s fees and charges for membership & program packages.
  • Participate in a strong team orientated environment which supports fellow team members and is conducive to high levels of performance and customer service.
  • Supervise all patrons in accordance with pool operating procedures, manuals and guidelines.
  • Having substantial availability with a level of flexibility

What we are looking for (Key Selection Criteria)

  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service.
  • Being able to manage conflict with patrons and users.
  • Possess a high standard of presentation.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in Point of Sale and membership sales.
  • Essential qualifications and experience as outlined above.
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with operating policies and procedures whilst positively contributing to process improvement
  • Proven team orientation in the workplace.
  • A current, valid Victorian driver’s licence.

The successful applicant will be required to obtain a current Police Check, Employee Working with Children Check, as well as the requirements listed in the Position Description. Applicants for this position must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.

Please note: This position has a minimum age of sixteen years and also has the requirement to be able to swim 200 metres and perform aquatic rescues.
